Associate Professor Simon Ng, from the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, is currently seconded to the Defence Science Institute as Associate Director.
Associate Professor Ng has degrees in Materials Engineering and Materials Science from Monash University and a PhD in conducting polymers, also from Monash University. Prior to his appointment to the Defence Science Institute, he was Head of Joint Systems Research in the Joint and Operational Analysis Division at DSTO. In this role he led the group providing systems modelling and design expertise to support the capability lifecycle in Defence.
Associate Professor Ng’s personal research has focused on the modelling of enterprise systems within Defence, complementing his work over the past ten years supporting the development of information and organisational architectures in the joint and space operations domains. Associate Professor Ng is the Australian National Lead on the Systems Engineering for Defence Modernisation technical panel within the Technical Cooperation Programme (TTCP).
